OSRAM Continental continues the internal expansion of its R&D team with a new location in Mexico

On April 10th, 2019 OSRAM Continental celebrated the opening of its new location in Guadalajara, Mexico. With this state-of-the-art 21,700 square foot facility, the company is further expanding its presence in America.

The site serves as a center for research and development (R&D) for the integration of light, sensors and electronics for the automotive lighting of the future.

Over the last decade, Mexico has been one of the world’s fastest growing automotive markets in the world. According to IHS Markit, in just the last four years, Mexico vehicle production increased by 25 percent reaching approximately four million vehicles in 2018. This growth is driven by the presence of almost every major global brand in the automotive market.

“The opening of the new facility in Guadalajara is an exciting milestone for OSRAM Continental. This is a strategically important location that strengthens our footprint in Mexico and the Americas region and allows us to better serve our regional customers,” states Dr. Dirk Linzmeier, CEO of OSRAM Continental. “This facility is an important addition to our global R&D initiatives focused on intelligent automotive lighting solutions for the evolving automotive market.”
