At the Geneva Motor Show, Gumpert Aiways is unveiling a super sports car with lighting technology from OSRAM Continental. The B63R LED dual-function projector has been installed in the “Nathalie” model. It offers bright and uniform light distribution and maximum flexibility for vehicle design thanks to its compact size.
The “Nathalie” methanol electric super sports car which will be presented in Geneva for the first time from March 7 to 17, 2019 has a revolutionary energy concept and futuristic design. The narrow headlight band throws an above-average amount of light on the road thanks to OSRAM Continental.
“Without compromising on technical possibilities, OSRAM Continental has provided the best solution for our electric super sports car with this energy efficient LED module. Thanks to the well-conceived concept we were able to perfectly combine our demands for the design of the vehicle and for the functionality of the light,” says Erwin Reder, Head of Homologation and Certification at Gumpert Aiways.
“We share the vision with Gumpert Aiways of shaping the future of mobility. Because of the rapid developments in e-mobility, we are seeing growing demand for innovative and flexible products we can meet with our portfolio,” says Dr. Dirk Linzmeier, CEO of OSRAM Continental.
Optically versatile LED module with high light output
The LED dual-function projector offers uniform light distribution and impressive photometric performance, with the option of switching between high and dipped beam using an electromechanical shutter. The compact projection lens with a width of 65 mm and a height of 45 mm allows an almost free adaptation to the customer’s optical requirements. In addition, installation and connection to the onboard power supply is possible without any problems. A protective circuit against overvoltage and heat and a cooling system with active cooling make sure that the module works flawlessly even under extreme conditions.
